How to track music fans with Meta & TikTok pixels (without writing code)

To track music fans with Meta and TikTok pixels, create a Meta Pixel in Meta Events Manager and a TikTok pixel in TikTok Ads Manager, then copy each ID. Paste both into Dashboard → Settings → Master Pixels in MelodyLane and save. They apply to every smart link without code, and load only after a visitor taps Accept all.

This is the quick walkthrough. See the detailed Pixel Setup Guide.

Meta Pixel: Pro, Studio & Lifetime · TikTok & Google: Studio & Lifetime for new accounts.

  1. 1

    Create your Meta pixel (dataset)

    • In Meta Events Manager, click + → Web, then “Meta Pixel only” if asked.
    • Name it after your artist.

Tip: You only need one. MelodyLane adds it to every link — no code to paste.

  2. 2

Find and copy your Meta pixel ID

    • Select your pixel and open Settings.
    • Copy the 15–16 digit Pixel ID exactly, with no spaces.

Tip: Need screenshots? See the full Pixel setup guide at /pixel-guide.

  3. 3

    Create your TikTok pixel

    • In TikTok Ads Manager, go to Tools → Events → Web Events → Set up web events.
    • Choose Manual setup and copy the pixel ID (it starts with C, e.g. C4ABCDEF1234567890). Skip any scripts.

Watch out: Meta and TikTok pixels are separate — adding one doesn’t track the other.

  4. 4

    Save your IDs in MelodyLane

    • Go to Dashboard → Settings → Master Pixels.
    • Paste your Meta Pixel ID (Pro or Studio) and your TikTok ID (Studio), then save. (Lifetime includes everything in Studio, and the 7-day free Studio trial includes it too. Pro accounts created before 1:17 PM PT on October 22, 2026 keep TikTok and Google pixels.)
    • Master Pixels apply to every smart link, current and future, unless that link has its own pixels set in the builder's tracking step.

Tip: Need a different pixel on one release? Change it in the builder’s tracking step.

  5. 5

    Know what gets tracked

    • Meta: PageView and “MelodyLane Smart Link Visit” on every visit; ViewContent and “MelodyLane Music Click” when a fan taps a streaming service (plus MusicPreSave on pre-save links); CompleteRegistration on email sign-up.
    • TikTok: a page view on every visit, ClickButton on a service tap and CompleteRegistration on sign-up.
    • A service tap and a fan sign-up are sent to both your Google Analytics and Google Ads IDs.
    • Your pixels vs MelodyLane's own analytics: MelodyLane's Meta and TikTok pixels only run on MelodyLane's own site pages; MelodyLane's Google Analytics also measures visits to smart links on melodylane.io, but never on custom domains. On your custom domain only your pixels load. Nothing loads until a visitor taps Accept all.
    • After your first real visit they appear in Meta’s event lists by themselves — no custom conversion rules needed.
    • Ad platforms use these to build audiences and measure ads.

Watch out: A tap isn’t a stream or sale. MelodyLane Insights numbers come from MelodyLane, not Meta or TikTok.

    Test before you spend

    • Open your smart link and watch for the visit in Meta Test Events and TikTok Events Manager.
    • Nothing showing? Re-check the saved ID, then try another browser.
    • Give your first campaign a few days on a small budget before judging.

Watch out: Ad blockers can hide pixel events — including your own test visits. That’s normal.
